AUSTIN AND JANKAUSKAS EXHIBIT AT ZILLY BEE FOR THIRD THURSDAY
Opening: January 19, 2012 through May 12, 2012 Zilly Bee Restaurant/CafĂ© will host an opening reception for artists Ken Austin and Saulias Jankauskas during the January 2012 Third Thursday Art Walk in Downtown Orlando. The reception will be from 6-9pm, and will be free and open to the public. Zilly Bee serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. This new restaurant on Pine Street features delicious fresh food, caters to busy downtown lifestyles and is currently open everyday 7 am to 230 pm with plans to open until 8 pm . Urban Landmarks is proud to launch 2012 with two of Central Florida’s best fine artists in this show. The exhibit will continue until May 12, 2012. Ken Austin is a nationally known award winning watermedia painter/teacher living in Orlando, and is the founder of the Central Florida Watercolor Society. He is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society (NWS) and the Florida Watercolor Society (FWS). His work is currently in private and corporate collections from Connecticut to California, and he has won praise and prizes in many national and local competitions. He is currently an associate faculty member of the CrealdĂ© School of Art in Winter Park and he also teaches watercolor workshops all across the country. Saulius Jankauskas, a physician and board certified plastic surgeon, has been creating fine art with glass since 1996. “Health, suffering, beauty, and mortality are intimately experienced by physicians and their patients,” states Jankauskas, whose work expresses all these aspects of humanity and more in fused glass. Compelling and vibrant images of faces, flowers and abstracts are among the many themes you will find in Jankauskas’ work. |
