Orlando Dumpster Presence's Project By Andrew Spear

The Dumpster Presence Project is part of a larger campaign called Why I Love Orlando.  Why I Love Orlando encourages the city’s residents to come up with creative, inexpensive ways to show their love and appreciation for Orlando.  In September, a group of residents proposed the Dumpster Presence idea as a way to take an important, albeit bland, object such as a dumpster and turn it into a piece of artwork that sparks conversation and/or simply makes someone’s day a little brighter.  The supplies to paint the dumpster were provide through a $500 micro-grant from local businesses and community organizations. The group also thoughtfully chose the recycling dumpsters in hopes that their project would be a visual reminder of just how important it is to recycle.
