Today's AA365~Spotlight Artist , Donna Dowless, 02-15-12

Donna Dowless is an award-winning mixed media artist noted for her heart-themed creations. After four decades of working with many stars in the entertainment industry, she has cast her efforts toward developing her own art and works from her home-based studio located in Orlando, Florida

Her desire to create is continuously fed by her encounters with many inspirational artists and entertainers, each of whom have left indelible impressions on her over the years. Among these muses is Andy Warhol, who encouraged her by voicing "If you are an artist in your heart, so be it!"

Donna's art is a realization of her life-long dream. The intent of her compositions is to stir the senses and her approach to painting varies with each piece. Her work achieves a richness and depth of tone and texture by applying layers of color washes, acrylics, wax, oil pastels, India ink and translucent glazes.

Each piece expresses balance and harmony, a sense of tranquility and respect for life, and affirmations from the heart.

Today's AA365~Spotlight Artist, "Liz Watkins", 01-31-12

Liz has been an artist all her life. She moved to Central Florida when she was six years old. Since then she has drawn her way through life. She has been in the Graphics Arts for more than 25 years. After 20 years of creating art for everyone but herself, she started painting. Since 1997 she has honed her wicked sense of humor into her art. Her surreal, almost cartoonish style, is sometimes controversial or provocative, but never dull.

She currently is the curator for Little Fish Huge Pond and still stay invovled in the local art scene. Her work can been seen in galleries, restaurants, offices, nightclubs, and discriminating homes all over Central Florida.
