The Uptown Art Expo will feature over 125 artists and fine crafters. The juried work with be presented with over $5,000 in cash awards and ribbons. Live music Saturday offers the sounds of classic jazz and smooth jazz kicking off the festival is Lindy Romez & Sol Y Mar.Lindy’s original compositions were written with her trumpet as the main voice, is a nice blend of Latin flavored contemporary jazz.
The UCF Jazz Ensemble #1, under the direction of Jeff Rupert. Their latest release JazzTowncharted on JazzWeek at # 42 for ten weeks and the ensemble has performed international concerts including the North Sea Jazz Festival, and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Headlining on Saturday is the Robert Harris Group. In 2011 the group had three national hits from their Miami Sun CD. “Moving Forward” charted for over 20 weeks. The second release “Miami Sun” achieved top 10 status on the national indie charts and top 20 on national top 50 charts. “Bliss” is currently on all three smooth jazz.com charts, and continues to climb the National Billboard charts.
On Sunday morning Katie Roth is performing an acoustic set, she is a dynamic songwriter, artist at age 16 she is able to connect with the audience. Performing her own songs and puts her own acoustic twist on classic hits.
David Roberts and the Sounds of Sinatra - "Fly Me to the Moon", "That’s Life" & "I’ve Got You Under My Skin" Chairman of the Board David Roberts will be crooning the great Jazz Standards. The afternoon music changes direction with EEZ (two easy) featuring Andrew Luv. The group moves seamlessly between styles of Soul, Reggae, Smooth Jazz, Hip Hop, Latin and more.
