Artist, Cade Mikaels

When someone thinks of skulls, one may immediately associate them with death, evil or even science. However, Cade Mikaels likes to refer to them as individual physical attributes which reflect era, ethnicity, gender and persona. Although paintings of this nature can be considered educational or entertaining, she prefers to whisper her portraits in a sinister overtone. Cade has been drawing and painting for over 26 years and loves to paint any subject. Her passion lies in the anatomy of the human face, but more specifically, the bone structure which lies beneath. She believes each skull tells a story of the person for which it belongs and she thrives to convey that story in the painted stroke.
